The heart, liver, kidneys, lungs, pancreas, and intestines are all organs that can be transplanted and can replace damaged or missing organs in an injured or ill person that will save their life.
Bones, tendons, corneas, skin, heart valves, nerves, and veins are all tissues that can be used to help people who are injured or ill that will heal them and end their suffering. One donor could save 8 lives by donating their organs and can help heal up to 75 people with tissue donations.
By registering as an organ, eye and tissue donor, in the event that you pass away, your organs will be used to save the lives of others. Being an organ donor in no way affects the medical treatment you would receive if you were injured or ill, and only becomes an option after the utmost efforts have been made to keep you alive.
