Owned and operated by the Schank Family since 2008, this rustic steakhouse is located in the heart of the beautiful Vallecito Valley; a short, breathtakingly beautiful 25-mile drive from Durango. We are proud to offer the finest in steak house dining, with a variety of premium steaks, specialty meats & seafood, as well as tasty appetizers, salads & side dishes that tantalize & satisfy every palate. We would be remiss if we didn't mention that we also offer the tastiest, crispiest & juiciest broasted chicken in the Durango area, no brag - just fact.

In Addition, for the kids, we have the "Game Cave", a secluded, closed-door video game & shuffleboard area. For the adults, we have a fully-stocked bar, 3 billiard tables, & pool is free on alternating Fridays & Saturdays.
The Schank House specializes in creating the ideal setting for your next event. We have outdoor tents, tables & seating to accommodate small intimate gatherings, or full-blown, large scale, grand celebrations.

Wild Game & Custom Meat Processing
Allow us to assist you with your wild-game processing needs, we are experts at meat processing!
We are a small, family-owned business that takes pride in our high-quality work. We treat every animal as if it were our own, from the moment it's received - to the moment you pick it up.
Your name will follow your animal throughout the entire process of cutting, grinding, wrapping & freezing, to ensure that your meat is returned to you.
Deer can be brought in whole, but elk are preferred in quarters.
We store meat in the freezer for up to 7 days when complete. After 7 days we charge $5. per day until it is picked up.
There is a normal 50-60% weight loss due to the deboning process.
COOLING: If available, $10 per day.
GRINDING & WRAPPING: 25 cents per pound, $10 minimum.
