No-Cost Consulting

Since the early 90’s, the Southwest Colorado Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has been helping local businesses navigate startup logistics, develop marketing strategies, address bookkeeping questions, strategize for growth opportunities and locating vital resources for business success. The SBDC offers no-cost, confidential consulting with business experts who specialize in multiple areas such as business planning, finance, marketing, HR, growth strategies, non-profits, and more. The SBDC consultants have a wide breadth of knowledge and background  and are located throughout the region to make their services accessible across the five counties of SW Colorado. Request an initial and confidential appointment with this form to get started on your path to business success.

Trainings and Workshops

The SW Colorado SBDC offers multiple business trainings and workshops at either low cost or free of charge. By coordinating with local organizations such as the Durango Chamber of Commerce and Region 9 Economic Development District, the SBDC ensures that they offer programs that are directly beneficial to the businesses they serve. Signature workshops include Starting Your Business, Introduction to QuickBooks and Social Media Marketing. Their intensive business planning course, Leading Edge, gives entrepreneurs comprehensive training on starting and operating a small business. Other statewide programs like TechSourceConnect2Dot, and the Small Business Conference offer specialized trainings and resources to help entrepreneurs and small business owners build for success.

With an extensive list of resources, the SBDC has diverse assets to help get you on the right path. As part of the nationally accredited Colorado SBDC Network, The Southwest Colorado SBDC coordinates with SBDC Centers across the state of Colorado to leverage expertise and programs for our region. The team at the SBDC is also integrated locally with multiple chambers, economic districts, and the local business community to assist clients find the best path to success.

Donate and Volunteer

To continuously grow the toolbox of experience and diversity, the SW Colorado SBDC is always looking for individuals with subject matter expertise and the ability to become a consultant or lead a workshop. As a part of the Enterprise Zone, the SBDC awards tax credits for sponsoring workshops, cash donations, as well as donations of professional services.
