It’s nearly impossible to not have a fun-packed weekend when you’re living in the Durango area. This weekend especially; check out the lineup that we’ve made to make sure you have the best weekend possible. Whether you'd like to stay in town or venture out a little for an easy weekend getaway, trust us, this one will be a good one.

 Chopper Shows, Dirt Dashes, and Motorcycle Rides

Four Corners Motorcycle Rally in and around Durango

As if music festivals weren’t enough, the Durango area is hosting the Four Corners Motorcycle Rally this weekend with events throughout the region. Complete with motorcycle parades, poker tournaments, live music, and the Hooligan Dirt Dash, expect to hear a lot of choppers this weekend, and make sure to strike up a conversation. Do your best to grab tickets for the Hooligan Dirt Dash; it’s marketed as the grassroots race due to the lack of an “official sanctioning body,” making it an insanely fun and laid back race to watch and participate in. Check out their schedule so you can participate in all of the events! Here's a list of highlights throughout Durango and Vallecito Lake:

           - Street Party in front of El Rancho, downtown Durango at 6pm

Sat:     - Vallecito Lake Bash at Rusty Shovel Saloon

           - Hot Bike Chopper Show at 2:00pm

           - Hooligan Dirt Dash at La Plata County Fairgrounds, gates open at 6:00pm

           - Street Party in front of El Rancho, downtown Durango at 6pm

Sun:    - Law Tigers Motorcycle Parade at 11:00am

           - Black Flys Ride to Rusty Shovel

Bluegrass & Camping

Four Corners Folk Festival at Reservoir Hill, Pagosa Springs

Boasting the total Folk Festival package, make sure to block out your calendar this weekend, from August 31st to September 2nd, and head on over to Pagosa Springs with your tent, your friends, and your folky-mood. With groups Darling West, Sam Reider, Tallgrass, Bonnie & the Clydes and many more playing on both the Main Stage and the Late Night Stage, there won’t be a second of this festival you’ll want to miss. Not only will there be blue grass, but special workshops and kids programs along with morning yoga and guided forest walks, all free with your valid wristband. Seven full-service food vendors will be ready to serve you 3 meals a day, as well as beer and wine. Get tickets here.

Films, Mountains, and Festivals, Oh My

Telluride Film Festival in Telluride, CO

In it’s 45th year of existence, the Telluride Film Festival is still proudly giving you the opportunity to participate in “four days of total cinematic immersion,” and not to mention some of the best views of the San Juan Mountain Range. September 1st-4th, Labor Day Weekend, the town of Telluride will be filled with film-makers and film-lovers alike, all ready to view award-winning cinematic features. Nine film venues and almost 40 film programs, all ending with a Labor day Picnic. There are several varieties of tickets, some giving you special access to specific social gatherings and top notch film debuts. Even if you decide to not buy a ticket, this weekend in Telluride will be one of their best.
