If you’re looking to party it up, have a chill night out, or even hit the slopes we’ve got a New Year’s celebration for you. Whatever you choose, remember to celebrate responsibly. For the Party Animal:
New Year’s Eve Prohibition Style - Derailed Pour House - 5pm
This Durango classic is a great way to welcome 2019 in style. The party starts at 5pm and carries on well into the morning. Tickets all include champagne when you arrive, tons of party swag, a goody bag, and a keepsake glass. There will be ball drop at midnight along with a champagne toast for all! VIP tickets include your own private table, appetizers, and unlimited champagne! This event is 21+.
New Year’s Eve Black and White Party - Cantera - 9pm
Want to begin 2019 being indulged? You’re going to want to consider the VIP booth at the New Year’s Eve Black & White Party. Whether you’re general admission or VIP, all guest will enjoy a night of live music, dancing, drink specials, unlimited appetizers, and a midnight champagne toast. VIP tickets include admission to the VIP area, a plate of chocolate covered strawberries, and a bottle of Moet & Chandon bubbles. This event is 21+.
Red, White, and Buckin’ Blue - Wild Horse Saloon - 6pm
Join the Wild Horse Saloon for a wild start to 2019. With drink specials all night long, giveaways, prizes, free food, and free party favors, guests are in for a fun night. General admission tickets are $10 and $20 for ages 18-20. VIP tickets can also be purchased at the door and include access to the upper levels and free champagne all night long. This event is 18+.
NYE 60’s &70’s Throwback Party - Animas City Theatre - 8pm
It’s time to get groovy! If you’re looking to dance, but can’t stand the top 40 from 2018 anymore, head over to Animas City Theatre for their annual New Year’s Eve party! This year, there will be live music from local favorites Elder Grown, J-Calvin, and Mesquite bringing a blend of throwback music to get down to. Be sure to dress in your favorite 60’s or 70’s attire for the photobooths! There will be drinks, and of course, a midnight champagne toast! This event is 21+.
I wish it was the 80’s Party - Sky Ute Casino - 6pm
Who doesn’t love a good 80’s party? If you’re a sucker for 80’s music or 80’s anything for that matter this is the New Year’s Eve Party for you! The Eric Sage Show Band will be playing 80’s covers all night long so bring your best dance moves. You’re going to want to dress to impress for the costume contest with $1,900 in cash prizes. With each ticket you’ll get dinner, party favors, and, you guessed it, champagne. This event is 21+.
New Year’s Eve Second Chance Prom - The Irish Embassy Pub (Underground) - 8pm
Didn’t get the prom experience you wanted the first time? Here’s your second chance! Dress up and show up to dance and maybe be crowned Prom King or Queen. Plus this is a great excuse to wear your Snowdown 2018 outfit again! Each ticket includes admission and drinks for two and, once more, a champagne toast at midnight. Be sure to stay until 1am for the crowning of King and Queen! This event is 21+.
For a Chill Night Out:
Live Music by Joel Racheff - Diamond Belle Saloon - 5:30pm
Looking to dodge the crowds this New Year’s Eve? We’d recommend swinging by the Diamond Belle Saloon for a few drinks and live music. A weekly favorite, Joel Racheff will begin performing at 5:30pm and throughout the night. No VIP booths or admissions tickets here, just live music and fun for all!
Rob Webster Live - The Office Spiritorium - 7pm
If you’ve never heard Rob Webster live before, now’s a perfect time! With covers from Pink Floyd, Sublime, and The Grateful Dead, you’re in for a great show this New Year’s Eve. His originals bring a sense of familiarity, and his covers make you “feel as though you’re hearing them for the first time” (Tyler Drew Brown).
For the Families:
New Year’s Eve at Purg - Purgatory Ski Resort - 5:30pm
If you’ve got a family looking for food, skiing, and fireworks you’re going to want to head to the mountain! Purgatory’s annual New Year’s Eve Party is one that caters to everyone! Fireworks light up the sky at dusk (around 6pm) with the traditional torchlight parade. Head to get some grub at one of the dining options on the mountain, but be sure to make reservations if you can! Each restaurant has its own celebration planned and there will be food and drink specials galore! Even the kiddos get their own New Year’s Celebration at the Den Childcare Center with arts & crafts, games, and more!
The Morning After:
El Moro Spirits & Tavern - Brunch - 9am-2pm
If you’re looking to switch up your morning with brunch, consider El Moro Spirits & Tavern. Their unique and fun menu will get you excited for the new year (or at least breakfast). We’d recommend any of their awesome benedict variations! And we’re just saying, eggs happen to be a great remedy for hangovers. Don’t forget to give the hash brown cake a try too!
