The Weekender // Aug 2nd - 4th
August. It’s here. You ask, “already? How did we reach the end of summer?” To which we reply, “too many Mexi Loggers makes time fly.” We complied the perfect round-up of local and regional events going down this month for you here. Keep that list in mind as you begin to wrap up your summer. But for this weekend, we’ve got more festivals, more beer, and more live music!
The second annual Pine River Festival is this Saturday from 12-9:30pm at Eagle Park in Bayfield. Featuring fine craft beer, wine, spirits, ciders, BBQ, and an unbeatable local music line-up, the Pine River Festival is one of the best ways to celebrate the summer with the community. General admission tickets include access to live music including Midnight Backhands, Stillhouse Junkies, and High Country Hustle, as well as unlimited tasters of craft beverages from local and regional breweries, wineries, distilleries, and cideries. Buy a ticket for the headliner and gain access to see The Accidentals and The Steel Wheels! Check out their facebook page to learn more about free shuttles from Ignacio and Durango to the event.
It’s a Beer Party!
No matter how much time you’ve spent in Durango, it’s impossible to escape the fandom that follows the Mexican Logger from Ska Brewing. Hand a 6-pack of the good stuff along with a handful of limes to any Durangatang you meet, and you’ve made a new best friend for life. Unfortunately, the beloved Mexi is a seasonal brew, and we will eventually be forced to say goodbye until next year. But Ska never leaves us sad; the Oktoberfest Vienna Style Lager is making its debut this Friday night! As the 2018 GABF Gold Medal winner, this brewski will get you right in the mood to head into fall. Join the party this Friday night at 5pm to grab a fresh cold one and some delicious food pairings from The Container.
Do I Hear Music?
Oh Durango, how we love you so. You never fail to provide us with spectacular music. This weekend, Durango and the surrounding area has music for everyone’s ears! From DJ’s, to mountain jams, to irish jam sessions, to duos, to brunch serenades, you could gather a group of friends to see how many musicians you can hang out with this weekend. Check out the full live music calendar to figure out where to take your boogie-skills.
