Hiking with Pups - Saturday, February 16th
Who doesn’t love a good hike through the scenic Durango trails? Who doesn’t love dogs? Put the two together, and you get Mutts in the Mountains with the La Plata County Humane Society. This monthly event allows volunteers and those on the hunt for a new furry family member to take the pups from their shelter on a 3-hour hike on some of Durango’s best trails. These dogs do get walked by volunteers frequently on the Animas River Trail, but during this event, they have the opportunity to get out of their cages and really explore! And the best part is that all of these dogs are up for adoption! So if you fall for a four-legged friend, you can add him to your family that day! Just like being around dogs? Volunteers are always encouraged to ensure as many dogs get to participate as possible! This event is great for any dog lover who loves getting out for some fresh February air.
