21st Annual Dave Spencer Ski Classic

It’s not too late to register and race in the 21st Dave Spencer Ski Classic this weekend! Team races will be held on Saturday at Purgatory Ski Resort and the awards party for all participants will be on Sunday at the DoubleTree Hotel. All weekend long family-friendly costumes are welcome and encouraged! Join Adaptive Sports Association’s biggest fundraiser of the year and ski to raise money and support their mission of making outdoor recreation accessible to everyone.

Puppy Yoga

What’s more relaxing than having puppies run around you while you’re trying to do yoga? Well quite frankly, everything. Join the La Plata County Humane Society this Friday for their first ever Puppy Yoga event from 10am-11am. They with an abundance of puppies in the shelter, they decided to host the event to potentially find these little rascals a home. So come, stretch out, and enjoy all of the running and jumping of little pups at your toes. There are a total of nine furry friends that are eight weeks old, all of whom are available for adoption. Email chandra@lpchumanesociety.org to reserve your space! This event is great for anyone looking for an excuse to call out of work Friday and enjoy tons of puppy kisses!

A Powerful Parable - Friday thru Sunday, February 22nd - 24th

Doubt: A Parable

The eight-time Tony Award-winning play, Doubt: A Parable, is taking the Durango Arts Center stage once more this weekend. The play, written in 2004 takes place in fall 1964 and revolves around the importance of uncertainty. The story follows four characters, all who’s journey is seemingly guided by confusion, deceit, and of course, doubt. Actors Maureen May and Jason Lythgoe, both members of the Merely Players team, have become local favorites from their many roles played at the Durango Arts Center and Henry Strater Theatre. Don’t miss the last chance to see them in this powerful and moving production! Tickets are available online here, or by calling the Durango Arts Center. This event is great for those who love live theatre productions. Maybe make it a date by hitting up a local restaurant before the show!

The Durango Voice: A Manna Fundraiser

Don’t you just love those singing competition shows? Ever want to attend one yourself? Now’s your chance! Head to the Henry Strater Theatre this Saturday for Durango’s very own “The Voice” competition! This annual two-part singing competition showcases the best of Durango talent, all while raising money to support Manna Soup Kitchen. Come witness some of the best of our local voices singing their hearts out for the chance to compete in the finals in April! And the best part? You get to vote too!
