It seems like winter is going to last forever in our cold little mountain town, but there are plenty of exciting events happening in the area that will get you up from the comforts of your couch and off to new exciting experiences. Make it your New Year's resolution to always fear missing out on a new adventure -- and we’re the source that will take you straight to it.
Puppies, Chocolate and Snowboards...These are a Few of My Favorite Things - Friday, 5-7pm
The silent Powder Hounds Art Auction goes from January 3rd to February 2nd in which local artists have designed 20 snowboards to be auctioned off. 100% of the proceeds go to the La Plata County Humane Society. Have you ever imagined having all of your favorite things in one room at the same time? Head on over to Animas Chocolate & Coffee Co. this Friday for chocolate, live music, appetizers and a cash bar. Not to mention a meet and greet with the brilliant artists who designed the graphics on the snowboards being auctioned.
Yes, There is Still Fishing to be Done in the Winter- Saturday, 12- 1:30pm
If skiing and snowboarding is just not your sport, don’t fret! You can still enjoy the outdoors in the winter! No you don’t have to sit in the middle of a frozen lake in the winter in order to fish, you can still go fly fishing! Duranglers is hosting a free event this Saturday that teaches you where you can go, locally, to fish in the winter, the techniques you can use that will be most effective, different fly patterns you can use, and, most importantly, how to stay warm in the winter.
From Christmas Bells, to Wedding Bells Ringing- Saturday, 12-3pm
Everything you could think of that needs to go into planning a wedding, all in one convenient place! From cake tasting, caterers, florists, to venues, the Durango Wedding Expo and the local pros that will be there will help you ease your mind about details that will make your special day like something from a dream. Prizes and exclusive offers are available. General admission tickets are only $10 per person.
