Mid-July is here, and so is the heat. Cool down this weekend with nights of melodic classical music, dance parties in the mountains, and runnin’ for beer. Whatever you’re looking for this weekend, Durango provides.
A Night of Sweeping Romance
For renditions of Mozart and Tchaikovsky by the Violinist Philippe Quint, renowned conductor Guillermo Figueroa, and the Music in the Mountains Orchestra, join the night of Sweeping Romance at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College. Music in the Mountains continues to provide Southwest Colorado with outstanding music as they add this new venue to the lineup. The music begins at 7:00 pm on Friday Night, make sure to purchase your tickets now!
Run for Beer
Do you like to run? Perhaps maybe you enjoy morning walks? Are you a beer enthusiast? This 5k(ish) race just might be designed for you. Known for being untimed and relaxed, this casual stroll of a race at Ska Brewing is around 5 kilometers and rewards with you beer once you finish! Walk, run, sprint, or crawl if you prefer. However you decide to race, show up to Ska Brewing on Sunday morning at 10:30, 30 minutes before the race starts at 11am. Make sure to get registered!
DJs, Beer, and Mountains
If you’re in need of a weekend dance party and some mountain views, this is the place to be. Head to The Nugget Mountain Bar, the ultimate adventure hangout, this Saturday evening for a line-up of DJs that will spinn 70’s and 80’s, House Fusion, and more all night long. Headlining the show will be DJ Justin Roberts. As the sun sets behind the mountains, head outside for the fire pits with local beer in hand and dance the night away. Music goes from 4pm all the way to midnight!
