Rock, Soul, and Blues
Needing some live music for your Friday night? Head to Animas City Theatre to catch PJ Moon & The Swappers - a band from Durango who has toured across the United States, but still pays homage to their hometown! Blending jazz, blues, rock, and soul music, this four-piece band brings innovative music you won’t want to pass up. The doors open at 8:30, and the show starts at 9:30! Come early to grab a drink from the bar and catch the opener, J Calvin. Get your tickets!
Patio Season Begins
Drinking beer and eating BBQ is a staple of sunshine season. This all returns tonight at Ska Brewing! Head to Ska Brewing World Headquarters tonight for live music from The Wild Roses, endless beer being served from the outdoor bar, specials from the smoker, and the beginning of patio season. If you can’t make it tonight, make sure to drop by another night to enjoy an evening on the patio!
Head to the downtown portion of Main Avenue for the Red Balloon Event, where over 40 local merchants will be offering fun games, shopping deals, and activities for the whole family to enjoy! At 3pm, the Red Balloon Drop will commence with hundreds of balloons dropping from the ceiling. A hundred of these will be filled with gift certificates from local businesses! Throughout the day, more than $2,000 in gifts will be given out, including special packages for Mom.
This motorcycle run will start at the Elks Lodge in Farmington and end at The Rusty Shovel Saloon here in Durango! The event will include a free car and motorcycle show, free hot dogs for those 18 & under, free snow cones, popcorn, cotton candy, and plenty of live music prizes, and games for everyone! The proceeds from the run will be split between two local non-profits that raise awareness about suicide and break the stigma of depression: The C.O.D.Y. Project in Durango and “Love for Thad” out of Farmington.
