The Weekender // Nov 8th - 10th
As October brought us some of the coldest recorded temperatures for the month, November is surprising us with days in the 60s. Whether or not you're rooting for the warm temps to stay just a tad longer or you're ready for a freezing blanket of white, keep your eyes on the Durango Weather Guy for predictions for the next month and winter season. This weekend, we've got events plenty of events for the ladies (don't worry, all men welcome!), chili, pie, and the rundown for November.
Chili & Pie, Oh My - Saturday, 6pm
Does fall give you a hankering for warm, homemade food? Yeah, us too. Luckily, the Chili Cook Off, Pie Auction, and Dinner is this weekend at the Vallecito Community Center. Bring your favorite chili, no matter the variety, and enter it in the contest for $10! Bring friends to vote, and then grab dinner for $10 (kids $5). All the proceeds will benefit the carvings surroundings Vallecito Lake that commemorate the 2002 Missionary Ridge Fire.
All Things "Girl" - Saturday, 10am-4pm
This fall expo happens right in time for you to start your holiday shopping for anyone in your life - mom, sister, cousin, niece, that special someone! The What A Girl Wants Expo features “everything of interest to women” this weekend at the La Plata County Fairgrounds. This includes jewelry, hair and nail salons, cosmetics, clothing and accessories, sports & outdoors, children’s products, health and fitness products and systems, food and cooking, home decor, self-improvement, home businesses and so much more! While browsing, sip wine and enjoy live music and dance demonstrations before joining in on yoga classes. General admission is only $5, and you can buy the Women’s Resource C
Run for the Ladies - Saturday, 11am
Girls on the Run Durango at Three Springs
Join this 5k this Saturday to get your move on and support the Girls on the Run non-profit. This organization is dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. Often times, this is the first 5k to be run for some local girls. This event is special and not to be missed! Join the fun at Three Springs this weekend.
