One of Durango’s most popular running races for over 30 years, the Turkey Trot presented by Animas Surgical Hospital is a holiday tradition for the whole family. Come burn off some calories and work up an appetite before your big meal! The Turkey Trot features a 5 mile race and a 1 mile fun run. All of the proceeds go to great local charities. Big thanks to Animas Surgical Hospital, our presenting sponsor for the Turkey Trot!

Ho, ho, ho, MERRY CHRISTMAS… Singing with Santa @ Buckley Park

Start off your holiday season with Singing with Santa. This annual family friendly event takes place the day after Thanksgiving. Come join us as we light our community Christmas Tree in Buckley Park. Santa will be there to help us count down the lighting of the tree, sing Christmas Carols and take photos. We will have hot chocolate and cookies for all to enjoy while supplies last.

Time to start decorating for the season... Christmas Trees for Conservation Lot @ The Train Parking Lot (behind McDonald’s)

Give the gift of time to your public lands each holiday season. Improve forest health, support stewardship and conservation education programs by volunteering to help cut and gather local white fir trees, set up the tree lot or sell trees to folks in our community. The Christmas Tree sale is a terrific opportunity for service groups, social organizations and individuals to support their local public lands. Volunteering for a 3 hour shift at the sale is a wonderful way to spend time during the special season. You’ll see people you know from around the area and help them purchase the perfect tree for their holiday.

‘Twas the night before Christmas… The Polar Express Train in Durango @ The Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad
