Welcome to the weekend, Durango! The last weekend of summer in Durango, Colorado is finally here. The nights are getting colder, the leaves are about to start changing and the Animas River is almost too cold to swim in– fall is officially in the air. Whether you want to hold on to what little bit of summer we have left, or you’re excited to break out your autumn attire, as always, we have the perfect list to guide you through your weekend activities in Durango! If you’re going to enjoy Ska Brewing’s Mexican Logger to celebrate the final days of summer, or you want to enjoy the Oktoberfest brew, just know there are no limitations in having a truly epic weekend.

What better way to celebrate the last weekend of summer than to listen to some live music outside under the beautiful Colorado stars? Whether you want to head north to the mountains to the historical mountain- miner town of Silverton, Colorado, or you’d rather go out to the countryside winery of Fox Fire Farms, either of the two would be the perfect option to end your final summer weekend with family and friends. Either way, be sure to bring blankets and layers as these Colorado evenings just keep getting colder and colder!

Fall is in the air and with that comes the 28th Annual Durango Autumn Arts Festival! Stroll your way down E 2nd Avenue (one block up from Historic Main Street) as local vendors and artists are prepared to dazzle you with their masterpieces. Be sure to check out the return of the annual Banff Mountain Film Festival at Fort Lewis College where you will see just what adventure in the mountains really looks like.
