Health Insurance Open Enrollment Begins Today

Colorado Health Insurance Open Enrollment Begins

Open Enrollment is right around the corner and recent changes to health insurance laws and regulations may result in lower rates and better plan options for 2020. Open enrollment starts November 1st, 2019 and runs through January 15th, 2020. 

Consumers who are not eligible for financial assistance will see rate reductions averaging 30% in Southwestern Colorado. Other consumers may be able to upgrade to more generous plans at very little additional cost. 

San Juan Basin Public Health (SJBPH) will be providing presentations and walk-in events throughout the region, as well as phone and in-person health insurance support. Kevin O’Connor, Certified Health Coverage Guide, will review what’s new in health insurance for 2020 as well as providing tips on how to choose the right coverage at the following events: 

November 13, 2019, Silverton Miner’s Hall, 1315 Snowden St, Silverton, CO 81433, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Enrollment event, information provided. 

November 14, Pagosa Springs Medical Center, 95 South Pagosa Blvd., Pagosa Springs Colorado, 11 am to 3 pm. Enrollment event, information provided. 

November 16, 2019 La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave, Durango, CO 81301, 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Enrollment event, information provided. 

December 7, 2019, Pagosa Springs Town Hall, 551 Hot Springs Blvd, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147, 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. Enrollment event, information provided. 

More events will be added in the near future, including events in Montezuma County.
