Job Description:
Durango School District 9-R is accpeting applications for Head Football Coach at Escalante Middle School starting in the 2022/2023 school year. This coaching position includes instructing middle school students (grades 7 and 8) in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training of football. We are a member of the San Juan Basin League; the season runs early August 2022 through mid October 2022.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and ability to organize and positively lead athletes and Wrestling coaching staff
Fundamental knowledge of football
Experience working with school-aged athletes
CPR/AED certified, or ability to get certified
Plan and organize practices
Instruct players on techniques to develop fundamental skills
Provide feedback to help players improve
Encourage and support good teamwork and sportsmanship
Assist head coach in other duties
Communicate with players, coaches, parents, AD and admin
